Select Nursing Team

The Select Nursing Team are on hand to provide expert advice on all bladder and bowel related issues. All of our clinical nurse specialists are highly experienced in continence care and committed to delivering a real difference.

Meet the Team:

Bev Collins - Clinical Nurse Lead

I am the Clinical Nurse Lead for Wellspect Healthcare.

I commenced my Nurse Training in 1986 at Dorset School of Nursing.

I have a wealth of experience both in Urology and Continence covering both Hospital and Community.

My special interest in Trans Anal Irrigation led to my work within the TAI development team at Wellspect Healthcare, where I was involved in development, education and preparation for the launch of the Navina TAI Product in 2016.

I lead the Team of Nurses who cover clinical commitments in several hospitals covering Urology and Bowel clinics. I currently work in the Wellspect office 2 days per week offering support to Select users and Healthcare professionals with any Continence issues.

I work with the ambassadors who represent Wellspect as advocates of the products they use for bladder and bowel issues.

Sallyanne Haigh - Continence Nurse Specialist

I have been working as a qualified nurse since 1995, I have thoroughly enjoyed my career and been employed by the NHS for 21 years in many nursing roles. Most recently I was a community nurse manager in the NHS, where I was working within the multi-disciplinary team preventing admissions to hospital, acute assessments with planning care, implementing services and evaluating situations.

I have always ridden and had horses and enjoy a very outdoor life! But on October 10th 2015 I was involved in a very serious equestrian accident wherein I broke my back at T11- L2 and sustained a spinal cord injury at L1. Leaving me as a paraplegic with complex injuries and bladder and bowel complications for the rest of my life. Following rehabilitation getting on with life I wanted a change in my career and to work within a service where I could support clients experiencing similar life-changing difficulties as myself.

My role within Select is an office-based nurse advisor specialising in intermittent self-catheterisation and trans anal irrigation (TAI). I work as a Navina specialist in the Customer Care team, I deal with daily nurse referrals from clients, health care professionals and the wider community. Being office based is great for the clients who have clinical enquiries when they call up, they can be put through to a nurse to offer clinical support, guidance and advice.

Jo Spooner - Continence Nurse Specialist

I qualified in 2006 at York University and started work on a urology ward, then moving across to a Day Unit mainly working within the specialist Urology/Continence field. Working within many specialist Clinics with a focus on evidence-based, patient-focused care and compliance with best practice.

As a Select Continence Specialist Nurse I provide several levels of support depending on the local need/requirements with the aim of closing gaps in local service provision this can range from telephone follow-ups through to delivering clinics as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team.

I have also moved on to teach TAI Trans Anal Irrigation as part of my role, which is a therapy to promote quality of life improvements and symptom reduction.
